reduce your carbon footprint in the sand

I'll be honest and say that I'm not the most eco-friendly person. I don't go around littering everywhere but I'm not exactly aware of the day-to-day things that I should be, or could be, doing to help our environment. That has slightly changed since moving to Hawaii. There are certain areas in this state that seem to remain untouched and it's amazing to see the difference in those places versus the city and more occupied areas. But what can I do? How can I help?

Eco Swim by Aqua Green has made this task a little easier on us. No, they haven't figured out how to save the environment, but they have offered us a way to reduce our carbon footprint. Eco Swim is one of the only companies in the swimwear market that is taking steps towards a sustainable world. They are a U.S. based company (and by based I mean everything from start to finish is done in the U.S.!) that not only designs a fashion-forward and eco-friendly swimwear line but also provides funds and manpower to hold large beach cleanups across the United States. To date, they've collected over 50,000 pounds of trash from our beaches!

I love this line from their website: "We all share one planet. We don't get another shot. We want the world to be a better place for future generations, and so with every new sunrise, we take one step closer to reducing our carbon footprint in the sand."

Check out this video for more info about Eco Swim by Aqua Green and what they do:

I was thrilled when I received a swimsuit coverup from their new 2013 collection. Not only is it extremely versatile (it can definitely be used as more than a coverup), but it is SO comfortable!

I took some photos -- at the beach of course! Not only is the scenery perfection, but it's also such a great example of exactly why we need more companies like Eco Swim by Aqua Green. Let me know what you think!

  3. That is the cutest little cover up. And, I am fairly eco-friendly but I don't think we need to all kill ourselves trying to do everything right. I think if we each did a little something every day with the environment in mind, this world would be much better off :).
