a camera and a promise

[via] Most of you probably know by now that I'm obsessed with pictures. Or taking pictures. Or probably both. I have over 200 photo albums on my personal Facebook page, over 900 photos on Instagram, and am always running out of memory space on my iPhone and digital camera.  The quote above describes exactly why I love pictures so much. So anyway, although I love photography, I don't know anything about it. I really need to take a class or something. But besides that, it seems like everyone is getting a new camera (like her and  her  and her ) recently. And not just a new one, but a better one. A professional camera. -- And maybe they aren't actually professional cameras but I pretty much call any camera that takes high quality pictures "professional". I've been dying for one. I mean really it's been on my wishlist for years now and since I've started blogging, it's become more evident to me that I do want  need one! i can't e

I am SO excited to be co-hosting today's GFC Blog Hop! Last week there were 293 link-ups so we're shooting for 300 this week! When I want to follow a blog the first thing I look for is GFC (Google Friend Connect). It's so easy and it's nice to be able to go and see all of the blogs you follow in one spot. It's really a great tool to have.  P.S. Did you know you can follow through GFC using your Twitter Account? If you are interested in co-hosting the next GFC Blog Hop send an email to:  melissa@thelifeofanotsoordinarywife.com Ok, so let's get to the party, shall we? RULES are simple: 1. Follow your host via GFC The first link below 2. Follow your co-hosts via GFC The next 8 links below 3. Link up below using your main blog url not a specific post. 4. Make sure to visit some of the blogs in the link up and follow them via GFC   and if you want to leave them a comment, I'm sure they'd appreciate that as well.

look around.

[via] I think Jared and I take living in Hawaii for granted. We've experienced a lot here but in my opinion, it's not nearly enough. It's still so weird that we live here. I literally have to say to myself some days "YOU LIVE IN HAWAII"..because I think I forget. I never in a million years would have imagined myself a) living in Hawaii and b) living in Hawaii with my HUSBAND! Yea, the husband part is still crazy to me too. Anyway, when Saturday morning rolled around, Jared and I were having our usual "what are we going to do today?" conversation. I'm so indecisive so this conversation usually lasts for over an hour and consists of us going back and forth with different options. Annoying, I know. It annoys ME so I can only imagine how Jared feels. Thank God he loves me. So, back to the story- we decided to act like tourists for the day. We walked around the city, took pictures, grabbed a snack at a local gem, had lunch on the water (at a to

She has my back when no one else does. She let's me cry when I need to cry. She let's me bitch when I need to bitch. She supports my crazy decisions. She embraces my flaws. I'm really lucky to have a friend like her.

under the sea

One of the (many) benefits of living in Hawaii is the scenery.. it's basically a blogger's dream. Imagine all of the fun photo shoots you could have! That being said, one of my favorite memories of our time in Hawaii thus far is our underwater photo shoot. Yep. You heard that right. Underwater. Photo shoot. Yes, it is as cool as it sounds. This is when I discovered that I am a horrible kisser underwater. I love that Jared looks like a ninja. We chose Waimea Bay as the setting of the shoot because... well I'm not really sure why but it was awesome. I had never swam so deep into the ocean. It was actually quite liberating.  All of the photos were taken by Marina Miller of Red Heart Photo . SHE IS AMAZING. Seriously. Besides her obvious talent, she's an all-around cool chick. If you ever visit Hawaii (or if you live here), I highly suggest that you book a shoot with her.  Marina suggested that we stay fully clo
