if you really knew me...

The amazing and talented Jenni over at Story of My Life is always inspiring me to write about different topics. She recently wrote this post (she got the idea from another amazing writer- Kristin @ the Vignettes blog) and I thought it would be something that I could easily write about.. especially because, like I've said so many times before, I don't like to discuss personal things (too much) on this blog so there are probably a lot of things that you don't know about me. I'd also like to note that Jenni and I have a lot in common which is probably one of the many reasons I stalk enjoy her blog so much.

So here we go... 

If you really knew me...

- you'd know that I love with all of my heart which sometimes gets me hurt.

- you'd know that Jared makes me more content with life than I have ever been before.

- you'd know that nothing is too sour for me and that I could eat an entire jar of pickles by myself. And love every second of it.

- you'd know that I am VERY protective of my friends and family...which sometimes gets me into trouble.

- you'd know that I am loyal to a fault- which explains the statement above.

- you'd know that I don't take disloyalty lightly and have a hard time letting go of grudges. So if you get on my shit list, it's very hard to get off.

- you'd know that I am deathly afraid of bugs or anything small that moves on the ground -- especially cockroaches! When I moved into my first apartment (first without a roommate) I called my mom the 2nd week crying hysterically. She thought someone died. But no, it was worse. There was a cockroach in my bathroom. She drove 45 minutes to my apartment to kill it for me. Spoiled? I like to call it loved.

- you'd know that I love food. A lot. and will rarely turn it down.

- you'd know that the Latina in me sometimes comes out when I'm drinking.

- you'd know who has broken my heart and how much it affected me.

- you'd know that I am overly obsessed with Duke and love it. That he melts my heart. That he makes me happy. That he's my baby!

- you'd know that my one regret in life (so far) is hurting someone.

- you'd know that if I have the money (and sometimes even when I don't), I'll travel with you anywhere.

- you'd know that I love adventure and that I get bored easily.

- you'd know that cartoons freak me the f out.

- you'd know that I have a potty mouth... Yep, I curse like a sailor..and just like Jenni says here, I know some of you may be turned off by that, but it's the truth and to be honest I don't really feel bad about it. As an adult, I just don't think it's a bad thing. I know when it's appropriate and when it's not...and I think that's really all that matters.

- you'd know that I will stop everything I am doing and kindly ask you to shut up if I see that a Law & Order SVU episode is on (especially if it's one that I have not seen..because that is very rare!) and that I will dance to every beat of the theme song.

- you'd know that since I am so obsessed with Law & Order, I am very paranoid in real life. So I always make sure the doors are locked and I avoid walking in dark places alone at night.

- you'd know that the slightest thing can drastically change my mood. (lucky Jared)

- you'd know that I can be very emotional. (again, lucky Jared)

- you'd know that I am quick to address an issue with a stranger but avoid conflicts with friends at all costs.

- you'd know that I take football very seriously and that you should not interrupt me during a game.

- you'd know that I despise exercising or any kind of movement.. unless it's dancing. As a matter of fact, if you see me running, call the cops. (pretty sure I stole that from someone) 

- you'd know that I am a very proud Texan.

- you'd know that Africa holds a very special place in my heart.

- you'd know that I always have 2 things: my camera and my phone.

- you'd know my feelings about children.

- you'd know that I tend to keep in touch with everyone I meet.

- you'd know that I have a true addiction to coffee.

- you'd know to be prepared to make decisions for me because I'm the most indecisive person ever...and it's pretty annoying.

- you'd know to always tell me to be somewhere before the actual time that you want me there...because I am ALWAYS late.

- you'd know that I take very long showers.

- you'd know that I always need to feel loved.

- you'd know that I get overwhelmed very easily, can't handle stress, have issues with anxiety, and have a very weak stomach that reacts differently for every emotion.

- you'd know that I am very sarcastic so you would not take me seriously about 80% of the time.

- you'd know that I have (and love) nicknames for everyone!

- you'd know that I'm a hopeless romantic and would do anything for love.

- you'd probably know a lot of embarrassing stories about me..
