My fabulous blogger BFF hosts a weekly link up called Fearless Fashion Fridays. I've missed a few weeks but when I heard that this week's theme was thrifted items, I knew I had to join in!
The idea of thrifting used to weird me out.. I didn't like the idea of wearing clothes that were used. I don't mean that in a snobbish way, it just weirded me out. This all changed when I lived in NYC. Manhattan has an array of thrift shops that carry some of the coolest items. The skirt above was my first ever purchase from a thrift shop. I remember the day well. I was strolling the streets of Manhattan with my girlfriends and we decided to pop into a cute little thrift shop. I didn't need the skirt. I didn't even really love it. But there was something about that day, the atmosphere, the newness of life in NYC, that made me want to buy it. So I did!
I paired it with neutrals (duh) and some jewelry for a kind of boho look. Whatcha think? Do you have any thrifted items?

Love the outfit, it's so simple but great! I had the same feeling for thrifting but after reading and watching all these people thrift and save so much money from it, I decided to hit my closest Value Village and now I can't stop thrifting! I feel like whenever I have the urge to buy new clothes for the season, I always check out VV before hitting the mall. Such great finds during thrifting!
