weekly roundup | march 30, 2013
Apparently shit went down in blog land this week. I often feel like I live (read: blog) under a rock because I never know what's going on when people say that there's drama happening. I keep seeing posts about negativity and bullying and blah blah blah but I never know exactly what's going on. I guess it's a good thing though. I'd rather not be involved at all.
To be honest, I think it's all pretty funny. After all of the super dramatic posts, I read this one and it made me laugh, mostly because it's just so true. I know we all spend a ton of time and put forth a lot of effort towards are little homes on the web. But sometimes I think people take themselves a little too seriously.
Most of my family and friends don't even know that this blog exists. And out of the ones who do, there's only a few who have actually ever read it.
If I told people about the crap that goes on in "blog land" they'd laugh.
When it comes down to it, you (the girl with the "successful" blog and huge following), you (the girl who is a newbie blogger and trying to make a name for herself in this crazy space), and I could be put in a room together in REAL life and we're all the same person. Ladies just sharing their stories on the internet. Some better at it than others, but still we're all doing the same thing. And no one in real life gives a shit about "blog drama".
I'm sorry for all of you who are feeling the negativity. This isn't meant to be mean or put anyone down. It's meant to make you laugh and realize it's not worth the energy. Brush it off. Do your thing. And move on.

I have been seeing a lot of blog drama too and I just wonder how in the world it gets to be that way! Thankful I'm not in any of it!
ReplyDeleteGreat print and great blog! Either I totally live under that rock with you, my decision to give up Twitter for Lent was a good one, or I just don't follow the "right" blogs but you are right, everyone should breath deep & chill! Thanks for the link to the other blog too! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI really love these round ups thanks so much! I had no idea any blog drama was going down, I'm just in my own little bubble here!

I'm so glad that you liked my post! I'm with you, I really don't know what is going on with the negativity. People keep mentioning it and I'm a little confused because I just don't see much of it. I hope I made a couple people laugh and I'll continue to keep things goofy and positive. Thank you for mentioning me!
ReplyDeleteWow, some of these links are great! Thanks for sharing! :)

You put it all in the proper perspective. It's ridiculous, and it sounds to me like some people ought to put on their "big girl panties" and get over themselves! Glad you're able to laugh this off. And I have NO idea what you're even talking about. (lol...)
ReplyDeleteAwesome blog you have here, love it, I just began blogging and my 1st comment last week was a foul one about my looks. I went to the chicks G+ page and she had nothing 'personal' displayed and said she was a troll. The comment was removed quickly. The only explanation of someone hurting another's feelings is jealousy or low self esteem. U r lucky 2 have missed it. Keep it AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteI was seeing some "blog drama" on Twitter for the last few weeks, but I really have no idea the who, what, when and where. To be honest, I feel like I'm back in high school and there's just a lot of gossip and drama. I'm with you - I'd rather stay out of it!
ReplyDeletebahaha. amen! I was all...what happened?? last week when I returend from my weekend break. Whatevs! And that print...hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI'm making the transition from Tumblr to Blogger.. Tumblr has drama all! the! time! Good to know that there are normal people over here that are above the drama.
ReplyDeleteJessica- thanks so much for including my blogger e-mail tips post! You rock!
ReplyDeleteJust caught up on reading the blogs I follow and could not agree more with you on this post. Some people just need to relax and not take themselves so seriously.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this post! I am new to blogging and am really struggling with whether it is something I wish to continue. I love reading blogs, but something about having my own adds pressure even though I have no desire to be a "famous" blogger. No one besides my husband knows I even have a blog, haha. So why do I do it?
ReplyDeleteWhat's up it's me, I am also visiting this website regularly, this web
