floral + lace

Have you heard about The Messy Project? If not, read about it now and you're welcome. It's one of the most genius ideas I've seen around the blogosphere. It's become so popular that Kelly created The Mini Messy Project so that more people can get in on the action. (She also just announced that The Messy Project will now be held twice a month!!)

So what is the MINI project you ask?! Well if you haven't guessed it yet, it's all about the mini parts of fashion - accessories! Just like clothes, accessories are also worn differently by each person depending on their style, shape, look etc. Accessories are not limited to just jewelry. They can be tights, hats, sunglasses, headbands, bows, scarfs, shoes, belts, gloves.... and in this case, leggings!

So here's the deal:
1 accessory
4 girls
4 different styles
1 major blog day

Four girls were given a pair of floral leggings to style in our own way.

Here's what I did with them...

To be honest, these leggings were really out of my comfort zone. But that's what I love the most about this project - it pushes or fashion boundaries and let's us make it our own. So to make this outfit a little less scary for me, I paired it with a color that makes me comfortable - black! I used a black see-through lace top (I usually use it as a bathing suit cover-up) that has a slouchy fit, put it over a black tank, and then accessorized with some "edgy" jewelry and shoes. I thought the overall look would match well with an urban background so I asked my personal photographer (aka my husband ;)) to shoot these photos with the graffiti art as a backdrop.

So what do you think? How did I do?

Check out what the other ladies did with their leggings!
