this guy is a dreamer.

In case you haven't heard, Tico and Tina are accepting nominations for people to interview while on the Blank Canvas Tour. 

The criteria? They're looking for someone who fits one of the following categories:

1. should be following their dreams but is too scared to

2. someone who is working towards their dream and needs encouragement

3. someone who followed their dreams and is living it now

Today, I nominate my little brother, Michael.

yea, he's taller than me.. but I promise he's younger!

He falls under the 2nd category. Michael is one of my best friends and one of the best men I know. He has the kindest heart. He's strong. He's smart. He's motivated. He's encouraging. He's loyal to a fault. When all else fails, I know I can count on my brother. And it's always been that way.

Michael is a college student at Sam Houston State University. He'll be graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice in the spring of 2013-- and I feel like a proud mama. :)

What I'm even more proud of though, is Michael's ability to shut off all of the negative noise in life. He knows what he wants, what he believes in, and what he is capable of. He doesn't let anyone get in the way of that.

Michael is an amazing writer. We always thought that I was the writer in the family. We were wrong. One day (I don't remember when), Michael busted out his writing skills and he hasn't looked back since. He uses his skills to write music, short stories, scripts, poems, anything really.. 

His dream is to be a professional writer for musicians and maybe even be a musician himself.

He recently started a blog that I hope he uses to highlight his obvious talent.

I believe that Michael's story will encourage others to work towards their dream. He's received a lot of negativity about his dreams, but it's never stopped him. In fact, he welcomes the criticism. Unlike me, who practically cries if anyone says anything bad about me, Michael uses it as fuel to make himself better.

Although he hasn't reached his goals and dreams yet, he's on the way to it.

I'm so proud to call him my brother.
