a letter to my biggest fan

He's loyal to a fault (runs in the family). 

He's a dreamer (I like to think that he gets that from me).

Dear Brother,

You've always been my biggest fan. This has always been such a foreign concept to me. As you know, I haven't always taken the common road in life. Most people disagree with my decisions. Some people just think I'm crazy. Not you. Not ever. You've always been in my corner. Lots of siblings support each other. But not all siblings have a true belief in each other. It's a feeling that I cherish so much - knowing that you genuinely believe in me, in what I do, in what my dreams are. You don't just tell me what I want to hear.

The funny thing about all of this is that you are the superstar in the family. You are the one who is on his way to making a giant impact on this crazy world.

You amaze me more and more each day. I instinctively think of you as my baby brother and then you do something that reminds me of how mature you are now. That you're not a little boy anymore. Don't kid yourself though.. you'll always be my baby brother :)

I know you don't exactly take the "common road" either. You have your own beliefs - sometimes they're kind of crazy - but they're yours. And you don't back down. You know that I don't agree with everything that you believe in but I hope that you also know that that doesn't take away any ounce of my loyalty to you, the pride I have in you, and the fact that I love you unconditionally.

I hope I never take our relationship for granted. I know you look up to me and find value in my opinions. I don't know if I've ever told you this, but when I screw up in life (because I do), my first thought has always been, what will Michael think? I don't want to disappoint him. Because I value your opinion too, Mike.

You are my biggest fan. And I hope that you know that I am yours.
