it's my favorite time of the year!
No, it's not Christmas. It's FOOTBALL SEASON!
Time for early mornings, beer, lots of yelling, some tears, lots of arguments, jumping, jerseys, and junk food.
I'm pretty excited.
Although this past Sunday didn't go as I had planned (damn you, Manning), it still felt good to put my black and yellow jersey on and watch the boys on the field.
Football in Hawaii is quite a different experience. Since our time zone is so behind, we have to wake up extra early to watch games. I'm talking 7 AM games on a Sunday. It's rough but so worth it. Some of the bars here serve breakfast, coffee, mimosas, bloody mary's, etc. And since Hawaii doesn't have a NFL team, there's always an array of jerseys and fans. It's different, but cool.
HAPPY FOOTBALL SEASON!
I love your jersey! Mine is Roethlisberger. Go Steelers! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww that's fun!! My husband doesn't really like football that much so he doesn't make a big deal about it. Even if I had to get up early that would be ok if it meant I would get to be cheering on my favorite team with a mimosa in hand!
ReplyDeleteThe sound of a mimosa with football sounds pretty good, actually. Do you find that since Hawaii doesn't have a team that there isn't as much rivalry?
ReplyDeleteFootball season is so fun! I just moved to FLorida so my husband goes to UF and we got season tickets... it has been so much fun! Football is crazy in the south!
ReplyDeleteMimosas and football... Sounds like a game plan :)

Love that mirror shot! I'm not too big about pro football, but I'm all about college football! The hubs bleeds burnt orange, and I am a die hard Bama fan. Our house is quite divided!
ReplyDeleteI only get into football season at the end...super bowl!...when it really gets interesting. RoRos World
ReplyDeleteYES for football season!! I love the chilly nights standing out in a game, and the away games where you sit and eat and yell :)
ReplyDeleteGirl, can't you give some props to your hometown??? Our Texans brought it on Sunday!!! Yahoo! Love that you love this game so much!
ReplyDeleteYou know I never thought of how early it would be to watch 1pm football games in other time zones. It's awesome that bars open that early and serve breakfast food. Yet another reason I need to visit Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I LOVE football season!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right! I love, love, love football season for most of those same reasons (luckily don't have to wake up as early as you!). :)
