Road Jes Traveled

This year, I was lucky enough to score tickets to weekend one of Austin City Limit's Music Festival. And not just any tickets, VIP tickets! It was my first time attending an ACL Music Festival and I was beyond excited. My boss hooked us up with the tickets, scoring major brownie points from my coworker and I.  ACL wristbands + bracelets from Uncommon Goods ACL Day 1 ACL Day Two ACL Day Three VIP Grove at ACL 2013 The VIP Grove at ACL Fest was fabulous. I mean really there was no reason to leave unless there was a specific band that you wanted to see live. The VIP Grove had complimentary food and drinks all day long. Yes, ALL - DAY - LONG. Food was catered by HEB and the Austin Food and Wine Festival and more. Drinks were flowing courtesy of Tito's Vodka, Topo Chico, Sweet Leaf, Boxed Water, and more. And there was lots of free swag to take home. My drink of the weekend = Tito's vodka + lemonade + a splash of Top Chico ...

Sometimes, when I need to escape, I close my eyes and I go somewhere. Not just anywhere. And not an imaginary place. A real place that I know and love. A place where I've built some of the most amazing memories. A place that I'll visit often for the rest of my life even if I'm not physically there. I close my eyes and I see nothing but the clearest bluest water in front of me. I look to either side of me and see the people I love the most on miles and miles of the whitest sand. I look behind me and see the tallest most beautiful trees. I close my eyes and I taste raw coconuts and the sea. I close my eyes and I hear the wind blowing and the waves crashing. I close my eyes and I smell sunscreen and coconuts. I close my eyes and I feel the softest sand between my toes. I feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. I feel my hair blowing in the wind. I feel my love at my fingertips.  I feel my heart flutter. And I feel myself smile ...
